Waiting for Nicholas

Nicholas carefully treaded out over the creaky wooden floors. He stepped cautiously into the bath chambre, and sighed. Quickly shuffling off his trousers, he prepared to do the inevitable. "The water level is low", he remarked casually. He urinated. Then with panther-like dexterity, he flushed. Flushed away all his life, all his pride, all hopes and aspirations and loves, dreams, everything that he had once held sacred to him. All gone in a swift, swirling flush. Nothing but death awaited. One day he died. Nobody remembered him.

If David ever asks you why you momentarily abandoned his (virtual) presence, it is probably wiser not to answer, rather than giving him the rigorous specifications of the experience (as he demands). This is the lesson I have gained from this.

It makes a better blog post than I expected, I'll admit.
