Nikolas-Song

(I don't recall how the song begins, so this has a new first verse.)

They tried to buy Nikolas
to have his silence for a dime
to keep him quiet
while men were dyin'
on the out and open plains

But he wouldn't have it
he kept his word, and wouldn't break it
not for ten thousand golden shekels

CHORUS: Nikolas had a treasure pile
as big as old New York
(before it all burned up in nu-clear fire)
he gave some to the poor
and then he gave some more
but still he had that big ol' treasure pile

Once a man stopped Niklas in the street
Paid to start a fight (he had to eat)
So he pulled a gun
but Nikolas won
stared him down 'till the old man went home

CHORUS

They say the rich aren't like you and I
and Nikolas sure wasn't
he was ten feet tall and nine feet wide
and his every story was a mere aside
to the big one that got away

But that's a story for another day

CHORUS
he still had that ol' treasure pile
that ol' treasure pile.
